Introduction
Courses offered will give exposure to students in the field of welding, in which students will be taught in terms of theory and practical. Students will be exposed to welding method with taking into account the safety features. Students will learn cutting with plasma and a method of arc welding and gas. Students will also make welding metal on metal from metal type and feros not feros, reading blueprint symbols and drawings, test the connection by welding dissect, and bend metal merenggang. In line with government's intention to produce energy industry that high-quality work in the field of welding, our workshops provide a comfortable learning environment with facilities and the latest high-tech experienced instructors.
Training Objectives
Understand the safety measures when doing welding.
- Can read and recognize the symbol of symbols, thus drawing a 'technical drawing'.
- Provide knowledge and practical training to students about the process of welding processes commonly used for industry through systematic training.
- Next, skilled manpower for the country.
Course Description
Here students will learn subjects such as: -- - Apply Safety and Practical Procedures.
- Read Drawing and Specification.
- Manage Material and Consumables.
- Perform Mechanical and Thermal Cutting.
- Prepare Joins / Materials for welding.
- Perform Pre-Heating Process.
- Perform Welding Using SMAW Process.
- Perform Quality Control / Inspection.
- On Job Training (3 Months)

Period Courses The level and duration of training courses for Gas and Arc Welding is offered as specified below: --
Level 1 - 6 Months Level 2 - 6 Month OJT - 3 Month
Admission Requirements - Malaysian citizens.
- School leavers or industrial workers aged 17 to 30 years.
- Academic qualifications depending on the course applied for. Passed SPM / SPMV (Passed Passed Science or Mathematics and Bahasa Malaysia) or equivalent for courses starting with Level 1.
Certification
- Industrial Technician Certificate by JTM.
- Malaysian Skills Certificate Level 1 and Level 2 by MLVK.
Career Prospects
Employment opportunities are mainly in manufacturing and metal construction, installation of machinery and plant machinery, industrial furniture, equipment and metal structural construction work . This graduate course work may find employment as a craftsman in the factory welded oil filter, workshop repair and maintain a motor car, electrical equipment and industrial plant machinery or carry out work on their own by conducting welding work and make work on a contract basis.
They also have the opportunity to further their studies SKM level 3 and level 4 (equivalent diploma) and level 5 (equivalent degree) in institutes such as advanced skills ADTEC, JMTI, MFI and IKTBN. |
